The Glasses Factory was first conceived to deliver high quality eye care and eyewear at an affordable cost. With this in mind Seán, opened our first store in the Blaydon Shopping Precinct in January 2009. This store established a reputation for eye care based on sound professional advice and a continuity of care, an ethos which was enhanced when the company was expanded by opening our Metro Centre store and the recruitment of Bilal, a qualified Optometrist in June 2010.

Over time this new store has also developed a similar reputation of high quality advice and eyewear at an affordable cost. In April 2011 we established our own manufacturing laboratory, to further improve our quality control and to reduce our lead times.

We are receiving many requests for eye examinations from further afield. To deal with this upsurge in demand, we are now planning on expanding our business to service this demand.
